Actually this was from a Panasonic HDC-SD9 high-definition camcorder with a screw-on wide angle lens!! That made the edges blurry. It was VERY windy and as a result the footage as video was totally useless!!Inspiration
Like I said, I was shooting video. The two figures in the middle of the frame are my niece and her best friend.Editing
When I got home, I used Pinnacle Studio 11 to get a screen grab. Only 2.1 megapixels as this was just a camcorder. I processed it in Photoshop where I made it black and white, experimented with contrast and sharpness to create an 'old' look. The cropping is 4x1, which was inspired by the 1927 silent movie, "Napoleon". The cropping gives it an extreme 'panorama' look in conjunction with the 'old' look.In my camera bag
These days, Nikon d5200, Nikkor lenses 35mm, 18-55 kit and 55-300. I also like to use a Tokina 11-16mm ultra wide angle lens.Feedback
Keep shooting what YOU like. Personally, I like landscapes, especially in Autumn, so I tend to shoot a lot of them. Here in Philadelphia, it is very urban, so I keep going out to the same places, looking for a familiar but different perspective. I also try to venture beyond the city. Also with digital photography, there is no real cost taking a lot of shots, although picking your favorites for editing can be made more difficult. Grabbing a bunch of similar shots can allow you to develop a consistent style or even vastly different visions on very similar images!!
