These guys come out right after monsoon season in Arizona in hurds crossing the roads and flying for short distances. Imagine riding a bicycle or motorcycle and you hit a swarm of these. They are 2 to 3 inches long and thick about 1-2 inch to an inch. Yeuppers so many that I had to get off my bike and take a pic of one of them landed on the end of this dead Mesquite tree limb.
