I took this photo on the back porch of my house.Time
It was in the Fall, and I was just getting out of school. I was outside to give the animals some food when Simba, the cat in the picture, decided to follow me across the railing of the porch.Lighting
Since it was the afternoon, I obtained natural lighting from the Sun. The Sun gave the picture it's warm tone.Equipment
I used my old IPhone 5 to capture this shot. I didn't have my usual equipment with me at the time, and my phone was easy to get ready to capture a shot. I rested it on the where my cat was walking and waited until his paws went into focus.Inspiration
Many times after school I would take pictures outside and of my cats. I would try to capture different parts of their body, such as their eye and paw. During this shot, Sumba unexpectedly started to extend his paws out to stretch right where the focus was.Editing
I enhanced the picture by increasing the contrast. I also gave the railing of the porch a blue tint so the orange tint of the picture would pop out.In my camera bag
Although I took this with my IPhone 5, I have a few more professional equipment. I carry a Canon EOS 80D along with a standard tripod. I also carry a GoPro, a fish eye lens, and a macro lens for my iPhone 6s.Feedback
The key to capturing any animal is patience. Whether it's a house pet or a wild animal, all of them are always moving and unpredictable. Always be ready to capture a moment, because an animal might do something spectacular, or even just stretch, and it'll create an amazing shot.
