Location
I have no formal training in photography or graphics. Almost all of my work is taken outdoors in Rotterdam and I am always in search of texture photos to blend in with my subject photography.Time
In a lot of my work I use the shadows in my texture shots and photography instead of flashing them out which after merging gives more depth. Texture photos can be up to four or more layers of the same image all processed differently and the merged on to the subject image.Lighting
I like to take my pictures in morning from about 8 to 12 clock. As I never use my flash it makes you very aware of the light and were it is coming from.Equipment
Like to use a what I think is a all round digital camera the OLYMPUS SP800UZ as all my photography is hand held with natural lighting it gives me constant and predictable outcome.Inspiration
As my subject in this image is a store manikin the angel of the shot is very important the subject is inanimate but in combination with the texture photo and post processing the finished image for me conveys an emotion and a life like expression.Editing
When blending or creating a image I always try to think out of the box merging two or more different images into one as in this image I was most surprised in the outcome. In my camera bag
Digital is cheap so taking 500 photos in a shoot is normal so I make sure to have plenty of memory cards with me. And my trusted around digital backup camera a Casio Exilim which also has a good battery life and most important also a predictable outcome.Feedback
Photography is a passion but for me it is not a end product as in much of what I do is manipulation blending and molding the inanimate subject to express a emotion or feeling. Good photography is a Art lighting composition all with a exact outcome. But when blending and manipulating a image there a surprise element in the outcome. As for me any image that can make you look twice or to make you wonder what you are looking at love or hate it is a good days work.
