Behind The Lens

Location

We were vacationing in Rome, Italy and on our last day the temperature hit close to 35*C. We wanted to take advantage of the park next to our hotel. As we were walking along listening to the Cicadas, we looked up into the trees and I took the picture. I am an amateur photographer and was experimenting with different angles.

Time

The picture was taken in the heat of the day. We were so hot from the temperature and unfamiliar humidity that we sat on one of the benches under the trees.

Lighting

Somehow, I wanted to capture the heat, the heavy, humid air and noise from the insects into the photograph. It does bring back memories of the day for us.

Equipment

This photo was taken with a compact Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS30 camera.

Inspiration

I love taking pictures and making them into greeting cards for family and friends.

Editing

When I go travelling I try to take a camera that will capture the image as I see it. I need something that is reliable, compact and easy to carry for long periods of time.
