Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in Richmond, BC in early spring. Cherry blossoms are everywhere in early spring here, they are one of my favorite things to photograph.

Time

Spring is my favorite season, I often go for midday walks with my camera to capture the beauty of spring. This photo is from one of my midday walks. It wasn't a sunny day, perfectly overcast.

Lighting

It was a perfectly overcast day. I used a f/1.8 aperture and an ISO of 400. The shutter speed was 1/5000

Equipment

This was shot with my Canon 7D. I was actually using my portrait lens as I was trying to get a good bokeh shot. F1.8. No additional equipment.

Inspiration

The sheer beauty of Spring. Everything is new, crisp and beautiful.

Editing

Very little post processing, a slight adjustment to the color.

In my camera bag

I have a very large bag filled with all my lenses, camera's, flashes etc. So when I am out with my camera I have everything available to use.

Feedback

I've taken a lot of time going out in nature and working on my pictures. Testing different settings and even using unconventional methods. I wanted to use my lowest f-stop for this one and get the right bokeh look and I was very lucky that the overcast lighting was definitely in my favor that day.
