Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in Machester, it was a part of my first photography project. I had a camera in my hand for the first time.

Time

I took this photo around 11 am, everyone was outside because a group of people was striking portraying the level of violence happing in Islam. I took my opportunity to get close to people as they were not interested in what I was doing.

Lighting

Natural light. Back then I didn't understand anything about lighting.

Equipment

It was shoot on D3100 with 18-55mm.

Inspiration

My tutor at college asked me to do something outside my comfort zone, so I looked into photography and came across Thomas Leuthard who inspired this photo.

Editing

I processed the image in Lightroom, I had no knowledge of any elements of photographs but I adjusted the settings to something that caught my eye eventually.

In my camera bag

Currently I shoot with fullf rame D700 and 50mm 1.8 lens. I also bring 35mm with if I shoot landscape and of course I always have a tripod with me.

Feedback

Be patient, friendly and smile. You can come out with some amazing photographs if you have the confidence to approach people.
