A Sandhill Crane grooming its feathers at the bird sanctuary. Usually they will eat from your hand, but this was during spring break and there were so many loud kids running around. Most of the birds were hiding. I don't blame them.

I grew up in Nebraska and live in Colorado now. Always go back to my sister's house in Kearney along the Platte river to watch the annual crane migration. 700,000 migrate thru. It's incredible!
