The Vancouver Aquarium in Vancouver, BC, Canada.

Lighting

It was only the lighting in the tank. I had to wait until these jellies floated into the light to capture this.

Equipment

Camera: Canon 7D Lens: Canon EF-S 60mm f/2.8 Macro USM Tripod: No tripod. There wasn't room to set one up. Flash: No flash.

Inspiration

There was a jellyfish photo contest going on at the aquarium. This was one of my entries.

Editing

Yes, some post-processing done in Lightroom. Mostly cloning out reflections in the glass. My "stars in the sky" are just the particles floating in the water.

In my camera bag

I end up carrying most of my gear on my shoots. For me, I never know what is going to catch my eye and I want to have the right gear for most situations. I leave more heavy gear such as studio lighting at home though.

Feedback

Be patient and ready to get the shot. Even though I took others similar to this one, the lighting and composition weren't as good. Focus was challenging because of the thick glass, but with practice, this gets easier.
