Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken on the golf cart bridge on the 18th hole at the Newport Bay course at Ocean City Golf Club. Overlooking the Newport Bay around South Point, just west of Ocean City and north of Assateague, MD.

Time

It was taken near sunset in October, so around 6:15pm.

Lighting

It's straight out of the camera! The sky just happened to light up perfectly.

Equipment

Panasonic Lumix DMC-FH20 14megapixel point and shoot camera. A little handheld. And used the low rail/curb on the cart bridge to set the camera on to steady it.

Inspiration

We were looking for a spot for the wedding, and trying to get an idea of the potential backdrops for wedding party photos. Needless to say, we picked this location. (However, funny story, we got married on St Patrick's Day. And it was a perfectly Irish weather day. Completely foggy and overcast so we never go this as a backdrop to our photos. But I have this one!)

Right place, right time. I snapped about 15 pics during this visit, and funnily enough, this was the last one. Right after I lifted the camera, the heron flew off...kinda like he knew the shoot was over.)
