Location
This was taken at sheringham beach, north Norfolk in England. Obviously it was an unsettled day, I had hoped I would capture some angry waves. Unfortunately the sea was quite tranquil, which now I am obviously happy about otherwise I would not have got this capture! It's one of my favourites, I feel it has a lot of mood to it.Time
It was getting into the afternoon, around three o clock.Lighting
The lighting was very poor, I just dug in using a basic set up hoping I could edit later to add depth. The original was not a patch, it was far too dull a day.Equipment
Just my standard bridge, a Panasonic. It took a while to get the shot as I did t have my tripod and it was quite windy. I think I took around fifty shots before I got one without the camera shake being too obvious!Inspiration
Again I had gone with the hope I might get something with the waves crashing, but as it wasn't to be I investigated the beach line further. As soon as I saw the contrast between the stones and the wood with that angry sky behind I thought it may give me something worth capturing.Editing
I edited heavily with an HDR effect, otherwise it was just normal process of finding the best light and colour options that suited the picture. In my camera bag
Generally only my camera as I am not one for lumping the tripod around unless I'm looking to capture a sun rise or Sunset. I have started to experiment with my camera phone, I think there may be something in exploring that angle of photography.Feedback
The only advice I have is to not be shy how many pictures that you take. I find once I get home I find a lot pleasure in editing anyway, so I don't try to capture that 'perfect' picture.
