Behind The Lens

Location

The photo is shot in northwestern Bulgaria near the town of Varshets.

Time

At the end of a winter day in the 12 of February 2014 around 18 PM, coming back from a business trip, I noticed the sun reflection in an interesting cloudy forms. I stopped my car and climbed a small slope for better visibility, and from a hand I shot several frames using a different manual settings. At first I thought it would not look well with those trees, but I did try to frame them as much as possible symmetrically without, of course, letting out of my accent - the sky with the clouds illuminated by the sunset ...

Lighting

In order to make the picture to look more dramatic and mysterious, I resorted to minor corrections when post-processing.

Equipment

Nikon D5100 lens Nikkor 18-55 1/1000 sec. ima/3,5- 18 mm with ISO 200

Inspiration

As I constantly wear the camera with me in anticipation of something interesting and inspiring, and even more so that I was further motivated by the love thrills and the desire to share that feeling with my girl.

Editing

I made minor adjustments in the color filter, cut off a bit and from the frame below and that was it.

In my camera bag

At that time I did not even have a tripod and I was equipped only with my D5100 AF-S DX NIKKOR lens 18-55mm f / 3.5-5.6G VR II ! I am currently armed with an FX camera Nikon D610 and as lensses Nikon AF-S 50mm f / 1.8 G also i have a tripod and remote control.

Feedback

Do not plan your landscapes specially! Just carry the camera with you and be ready to catch the moment. It's a bit like in a hunting ... however well equipped, if the good subject does not come out, there's no result. Still, with this kind of landscape shooting, you have a little time to put your camera on a tripod.
