Ground rattler

The Florida ground rattler is a very dangerous animal. They are small, and blend in so well with their environment.Easily stepped on. Momma was bitten on the foot by a ground rattler. She had those fang marks on her foot when she passed 70 yrs later . Kerosene saved her life, as the old one room school teacher ripped a cord off the pull window, tied it on mommas leg, then poured kerosene on the bite marks. Momma said her foot boiled black bubbles. Then the teacher would tighten the rope cord, and poor more on the marks. Apparently, oil and venom do not mix.
