On 23 November, 2007, the sculpture of Bendict XIII, "Papa Luna", was moved to the entrance of Peñíscola castle. The sculpture was made by artist Sergio Blanco.
The artwork, two meters tall and 700 kilos, pays tribute to a character who turned Peñíscola into a papal seat six centuries ago. During the Great Eastern Schism, abandoned by everyone, he moved to this fortress, where he lived until his death in 1424.
