Male Common Iora portrait, taken at Buntal Esplanade.

It was a hot day, and our purpose was to photograph some shorebirds, but we noticed that the waves were quite rough. At sea there was a man on a boat, trying to keep himself upright with the help of a paddle. We only spotted about three species of shorebirds at the mangrove area, but there was none at the beach.

As we were heading back, we heard some chittering within the trees, and we saw four birds within the same area. Two were Common Ioras, including this male one here, one was a Malaysian Pied Fantail, and another was an Ashy Tailorbird.

The Fantail was crazily chasing down the Tailorbird, leaving us wondering what had happened prior to us arriving at the spot.
