Bara are small saucer-like rounds made of seasoned flour and deeprfried. They are then stuffed with curried channa-chickpeas-garbanzos and flavoured with different chutneys and pepper sauces. This tasty dish is called "Doubles" and is the most popular street food in Trinidad & Tobago (T & T). Each Doubles is made of two Bara, hence the name Doubles! Doubles was born from the foods of the East Indian people who make up about 55 percent of Trinidad and Tobago's population. Andrew Zimmern and Anthony Bourdain have highlighted Doubles on their TV shows!
