Atmospheric Landscape Photography. As a Nature Artist working against Chronic health Disabilities there are many places that I would love to photograph across the Globe which I need to accept I may never have the priviledge to see. Despite that thought, I count myself lucky than many people in the same position as me because I do live in a place with a wide diversity of natures treasures which I can appreciate , even if they may not hold the vast and dramatic beauty of those locations I still long to see.
Yet this is when a few of my disabilities become my creative strengths because physical Neurodivergence and visual disurbance have allowed me to expand my imagination and see my mundane environment in ways that another onlooker or photographer may not.
It often comes down to being blessed on a particular day by the weather or a change in direction upon a well trodden path , but in those times , I can stretch the limits of what would usually appear to be a very ordinary landscape into revealing itself to be as mysterious or dramatic as any glorious vista to be seen in the dark ethereal realms of Iceland or echoing grandeur of the Mountains of the Americas.
On this particular occasion , just sat upon a local beach not long after sunrise I was visited by a chillingly silent sea mist as the tide reached its claws towards the shore.
As I turned towards the view across the rocks and pools I suddenly felt like both myself and the place that I sat had been transported back through time and at that moment the beach I sat upon must have looked identical to the way it appeared before Humanity had even stepped upon its shores. A moment of Prehistoric Space suddenly piercing through the linear representation of Time.
This is one of those moments I love to try to capture allowing me to prove that even a rather dull stretch of land can rival the most beautiful locations on Earth if viewed at the right time from the right perspective.
And, even the limits put upon my opportunities to experience the wonders that those whom can travel far that my disabilities put upon me I can still achieve a feeling of freedom in the world that is close to home.
