Behind The Lens

Location

The summer was hot. The bugs were hiding and most of the plants dying. in the weed patch Nearby was a curious plant which I thought was agrinomy but apparently isn't but had very beautiful spidery achenes. Because I could find no insects, I shot the plant. Milovice, Czech Republic 5186milo7A22_08_11.jpg

Time

August 11. 2022 3:35 pm. Sun is just past the midheaven but it is also hottest period of the day until 5pm.

Lighting

Very strong August sunlight turning everything to dust.

Equipment

Canon 7D EFS 60 2.8 the small lens. It is an excellent macro lens.

Inspiration

I was looking for a bit of shade so I could stop melting like an ice cream bar under the sun and sat down on a grassy patch in a wooded are rather than open grassland which was brittle dry.

Editing

No-- its straight. I thought the shots might be good for composites in the future so I took sever all different shots and angles as the plant was interesting and quite beautiful.

In my camera bag

Canon 7D and EFS 60 2.8 and 35-135 3.5-5.6 are in bag. Canon 5D2 and Sigma 105 2.8 is in small case. Cleaning stuff, some polarizers, extra caps... minimal stuff. Food and change of clothes are in another bag which carries bottle of tea and mineral water. keep things to minimum.

Feedback

When you are frustrated by what you can't find and wanted to shoot, take a bit of time to look around and shoot other things. Plants are not major interest and very difficult to identify, but they are also challenging.
