7 July 2013. Srbsko, Czech Republic along the riverbank. Of about 822 images, approximately 300 were dragonflies and damselflies. Possibly 40 were canoes and kayakers and the rest macro.Time

The lighting on this group of images 2253-2258 is different from all others in folder. maybe 2252 is same damselfly on same leaf, but light is normal, nothing unusual.Equipment
last season/ month with Canon 400D. 1.4 ext on EF 100 2.8 lens. no extra stuff. Hand held. Basic, very basic stuff. All manual hand held. never other.Inspiration
Contact from AGE Fotostock is based on the 400D camera and EF 100 2.8 lens. With a macro lens, you shoot macro. Until this time, 80-90^ work was shot with this camera and lens. Image selection was just arbitrary out of about 16TB work. Serendipitous.Editing
spot check and dust removal. conversion from RAW. Well-trained to present clean straight shot for AGE Fotostock RM editorial. Straight vanilla shot. Unable to be otherwise... it was personal goal to shoot clean editorial images with minimal post processing. So very hard to be otherwise but strict straight photography. for macro: 2bags. little one for Canon 5D2 an single lens and Henekin beer bag for 7D. EFS 35 2.8, Sigma 105 2.8 goes on 5D2 and 60 2.8 on 7D. EF 35 4-5.6 (second copy) 1.4 an 2x ext. 5 batteries and additional 16GB and 2x*GB cards. Each camera has 32 GB card. Air pump, plastic for rain and miscellany. Macro means fixed destination with little movement. Weight restriction due to injuries.Feedback
1 know your camera and buttons by instinct. 2 patience. 3 be slow. Act like a stick insect or paralyzed chameleon. 4. learn habitat, plants, host plants, etc. it's not accidental that I shoot macro and not accidental that I have thousands of images at this level of quality. it's work. It's no different than any other discipline. Learn where the sun is, where the light is. Test your shot settings against neighboring bushes, leaves before shooting your bug. Take a series of shots-- gradually approach your subject and wait-wait-wait---wait.
