Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in the Badlands of ND. I was driving through and suddenly a large group of Buffalo were blocking the road which was awesome as a photographer bit as I looked around with the sunrise there it was. I probably took 100 shots.

Time

It was early morning as I was searching for all types of wildlife as the sun came up. I actually missed two big bulls fighting in this same area where I took this shot.

Lighting

The Badlands of ND and North Dakota in general is truly a photographers paradise.

Equipment

This was shot on my new canon 1 D X Mk iii. As I am writing this I forget what lens I used and would have to look it up.

Inspiration

I simply love nature and Wildlife. I camped out the night before with the intention of beating the sunrise and getting a silhouette shot.

Editing

Very little post processing. The conditions for the shot were awesome.

In my camera bag

I have my Canon 1D X Mk iii, Canon 5D Mk ii, numerous Canon lenses to include the 600 mm bad boy. And Tamron lenses telephoto to wide angle. Bedroom tripod and head as well as a promoter tripod. Numerous packs for cameras and large lenses. I need a pack mule.

Feedback

My best advice is to look everywhere. Sometimes the photo you want is right behind you as you are focused on something else
