Location
This was taken in Afghanistan (Camp Leatherneck/Bastion)Time
Sunset. The sun went down on the West side of the flight line which made for great shots each evening while Marines were conducting all sorts of maintenance activities.Lighting
Nothing special about the lighting g other than the sunsets were amazing and made it very easy for silhouettes to be taken.Equipment
Canon 40D. I forget which lens was used. I actually ruined 2 lenses while in country because of the fine baby powder like sand.Inspiration
Marines and military personnel from everywhere? would stop to view the sunsets all the time and I took many photos during these sunsets.Editing
I did very minor post processing to this photo. I am not a Photoshop pro so it's limited to basics. In my camera bag
I now carry a Canon 5D mkII with an assortment of lenses. ( Canon 50mm, 70-200, Tamron 90mm macro, 15-30 ultra wide, and 150-600 zoom.Feedback
I tell anyone who asks that you simply have to get out there and explore. Never leave home without your camera, I learned that lesson after missing way too many shots.
