Behind The Lens

Location

This was taken at one of my first wildfires this fire season. Athabasca AB was the location of this fire.

Time

This was taken around peak burning hours of the afternoon. Approximately 4pm

Lighting

Hard to think about lighting when I’m this close. If you know how to do your job safe, you get a wild ass picture like this.

Equipment

My iPhone !

Inspiration

The sick rush of being close to the fire to capture what I do for a living.

Editing

Just a slight adjustment to certain things, I didn’t want to ruin the experience I wanted to show everyone.

In my camera bag

Just my phone, my lighter, and some smokes in my chest pack. I’m an amateur photographer but love nature.

Feedback

Don’t be scared, be smart. Not a lot of us can be this close. I’m a sub leader and a tree faller. I love this life, but fire isn’t safe.
