October 19, 2017 - one of many photos taken while I rode the Cumbres & Toltec train through northern New Mexico to Colorado. Although the whole trip was inspiring, I made a Christams card of this shot to share with everyone I knew. It still remains one of one favorite photos, and not just for the memory. The contrast between the green conifers, the purple color and the ghostly aspens in winter gives the image a somewhat surreal aspect, but also lends credence to the boostful appellation of New Mexico as the "Land of Enchantment".
