Sunset At Wastwater - The Lake District
Mother nature's pyrotechnics kicked off in a spectacular way during this beautiful epic sunset at Wastwater, lake district in Cumbria UK. I spent practically, the whole day here on location taking in all of the beauty of my surroundings as well as enjoying the peacefulness which was great for the soul. I photographed this scene (as well as others) from noon to sunset and was utterly surprised to find myself all alone at least an hour and a half before sunset. This scene is probably one of the most famous in the UK and is a favourite amongst landscape photographers as well as painters and the like. The mountains featured from the left to the right of the scene are as follows...Yewbarrow - Great Gable - Lingmell and then the lower slopes of Scafell Pike, the latter being the tallest mountain in England. Wastwater lake is also the deepest lake in the whole of England at 260 feet deep and 3 miles long and half a mile wide...Thanks for looking.
