This photo was taken while on a family holiday to a small town in Souther Victoria Australia called Forster, my sonin law and myself drove the 1.5 hrs down to Wilson Prom for me to do some sunset photography, this is a result of that night.Time
This was taken very late afternoon in the Golden hour, I was using a 10 stop Kase magnetic filter and polariser. When I got home I was very disappointed with result as all my photos had vignette in the corners, so I did not spend much time with them, till latter in the year I was entering in a National Photo contest here in Australia and though I should fina a Aussie image to go with all my NZ one I was entering, so went back to look at these and with some cropping this is the end result, and it was my top image received a Silver medal, and had done well since.Lighting
You cant beat the Golden or Blue hour, they just give that extra glow, my recomendation to all is to put the effort in.Equipment
This was with the Sony A7rv and Sony 16 #5 GMii, just standard tripod , and a 30 sec exposure.Inspiration
I plan Golden Hour or Blue hour photography for most of my landscapes, as a Top NZ Photographer said to me once if a view is worth taken a image of its worth making a effort for the best time. That has been my motto every since.Editing
I use Lightroom for about 98% of all my processing, this photo would of got my usual basic developing then a few masks to highlight the light. In my camera bag
I have a range of Sony gear 2 camera A7rv and A7riv, both 61 million pixels, a range of Gm Lens 16 35, 24 70, 24gm, 134gm, !00 $00Gm, and Sigma 105 Macro.Feedback
Just make the effort, remember light is the key, it wont work every time, mother nature is not always kind to us but when it does its worth it.
