Behind The Lens

Location

The photo was taken at Minneopa State Park in Mankato, Minnesota.

Time

The image was captured during mid morning under overcast skies

Lighting

As you know, overcast skies provide a nice soft light. Cloudy skies provide the biggest soft box possible.

Equipment

I was using a Canon body, with a crop sensor. I like the aps-c fpr wildlife, as it is a 1.6x zoom from the start. It was paired with a Tamron 150-600mm G2.

Inspiration

I spotted an unidentified bird bouncing amongst small tree tops. As I raised the zoom lens, I was able to identify the species. I snapped a few shots, amd was very pleased with what appeared on the camera LCD.

Editing

Some cropping to adjust composition, and basic adjustments of a RAW file.

In my camera bag

I carry 90% of my stuff in my truck. There's more than my Wife would care to know about. My bag varies by genre, but the best camera you can get, is the one you have with you at the time.
