This image was captured at the Hay Days Snowmobile Swapmeet and Grass Drags in North Branch, Minnesota. Many exhibition riders are there to "wow" the crowds.Time
This photo was captured during a bright, mid-day afternoon. .Lighting
High Noon typically isn't a favorable time to capture images, but you can't control when some events occur. Try to set up with the light behind you, or side light your image. Thankfully, there are minimal shadows in the sky.Equipment
This photo was likely captured on a Canon XS with a kit lens, but I don't recall. A lot of monies have been spent since then.Inspiration
I am an adrenaline junky, and was jealous I never had the chance to learn this. Besides, how do you pass up taking photos of freestyle motorcross.Editing
Not alot was done to this photo, as it was captured as a JPEG.In my camera bag
3 cameras, a tripod, tons of lenses, and filters. All Canon and a few third party lenses. My camera bag is my truck.Feedback
To capture this, I would set the camera to shutter priority, and shoot fast. Try to pan along with subject, or as in this case, wait until the apex of the action to click the shutter. This was likely shot in full auto, as I hadn't dedicated to manual mode yet.
