Caught a warm break in the weather and managed to get a couple of days in the Algonquin Park in northern Ontario. While hiking along was hoping to photograph a Moose but came across this little fella Kwon as North American Pine Marten AKA "Cutest Assassin". He was very curious and focused on me wondering what am I doing in his territory. Capturing this photograph truly made my day.

This photo was captured in Algonquin Park in Ontario, Canada.Time
Left bright and early that morning hoping to capture some wildlife around the park that day. The main objective for me was to hopefully capture a good image of wild Moose but as we were waiting for the right time to go for the trail to scout for Moose we decided to go for a short walk on one of the trails nearby. That's where I hear some rustling in the trees nearby and was probably around 3:00 pm in November. This curious little fella popped up.Lighting
It was in November late afternoon around 3:00 pm in Ontario, Canada where the golden hour was just 40-45mins away from that point, which created some lovely trials of light filtering through the forest as this cute little Pine Martin showed up for a nice little photo shoot.Equipment
I used Canon Eos R with EF 70-200mm F4 lens which I generally leave on my camera while I am in the woods with Peak design clips so it is easy to use when needed. When I saw this little fella pop out from the woods I just sat down on the ground and just waited. Didn't want to scare him away. To my surprise, he was as curious as I was and we both stared at each other for a good minute or two before I decided to take my camera and get some photos.Inspiration
That day I was set on taking photos of wild Moose in the forest scouting the area in the hope to see one before they go deeper into the forest for winter. While exploring the woods and hiked around 12km that day decided to go to a small trail off the main trail to relax and came across this Pine Martin which made my day even though had no luck with Moose but came away with a lovely photograph of the cutest assassin!Editing
For this particular image, I didn't do much post-processing as the lighting was great, and given the subject was a few feet from me while I was lying on the ground got pretty sharp images. In my camera bag
Generally, I carry my old trusty Canon EF 70-200mm F4 along with 50mm f1.8 with me all the time. Along with a Polarizer filter and a spare battery for the camera.Feedback
My advice to anyone who's out there looking to take photographs is just to keep shooting and go out there to take photographs. I always go out with an idea of what I wanna capture in my head and sometimes I write them down in my notebook but one thing I have learned is to expect the unexpected like this photograph you never know what you'll come across and turn out to be a great memory and into a lovely image. The most important advice keep your camera out and not in your camera bag haha :)
