The photo was taken in a co-working space close to my home in Lagos. Being a street and documentary photographer, I don't have studio so this was me playing around unfamiliar terrain ???????? ...but I was able to apply my basic photography knowledge to make the images come out really nice.Time
Hmm... I remember having to hang around trying to reach him on phone but he wasn't even prepared! It was a long and frustrating wait considering the fact the work space would be closing for work by 5:00 PM. After about an hour's wait, he showed up looking all sweaty and uneasy. Waited an extra 45 minutes to get him settled before starting the shoot. I eventually made the images between 3:30 and 4:30 PM. ...and this was because we had to really rush as the time alloted by the space was just an hour!Lighting
To be very honest, I had only the ambient light and a speedlight for this shoot. ???? Being a street and documentary photographer, I rarely make use of any external light source talk more of all those fancy studio lights. LOL!Equipment
This was shot on a Nikon D7200, Nikkor 50mm f/1.8 lens and a speedlight.Inspiration
Basically, this image was made in the moment. I was trying to settle him and get him relaxed but being a shy person he wasn't comfortable having a camera pointed to his face. So this was more like a candid image.Editing
Yes! Just basic photo enhancements on Lightroom. Vibrance, Shadows, Contrast, Structure and sharpening. In my camera bag
Being primarily a street and documentary photographer, I always have my Sigma 18-300mm f/3.5 lens and a secondary 35mm prime for more intimate street portraits. All with a Nikon D7200Feedback
Always live in the moment. Have fun with your subject, make images that best describe your subject in their most comfortable state!
