Hi, I took this photo at the Canadian Raptor Conservancy in Norfolk County, Ontario Canada. They perform 1000's of bird shows across the country, offering a variety of shows for each grade school level, as well as high school biology/science shows. The Canadian Raptor Conservancy is a 20+ year old organization that provides education about Canada's various species of birds of prey. Through entertaining and informative live shows they ignite the imaginations of spectators and engage students to find an interest in the magnificence of birds and the wonders of nature.Time
The photo was taken around 1:00pm. I wasn't sure i'd get a decent shot of the Bald Eagle because prior to 1pm the weather was awful.Lighting
The day was cold, windy, rainy, and moments of snow, didn't look as though i'd get a good shot of the Bald Eagle flying over the pond. I never gave up and i was rewarded because at 1pm the wind died down, the rain and periods of soft snow stopped and for a very brief moment the clouds opened up allowing a bit of sun through at the same moment the Eagle flew over the pond. I had only one chance and was ready for it.Equipment
I used a Nikon D7000 camera and my old and reliable Nikkor 80-200mm lens.Inspiration
I saw a photo of an Eagle in a photography magazine, it was Photo Life Magazine and the pic just mesmerized me. It was taken at the Canadian Raptor Conservancy. I had never heard of the organization prior to that, I checked them out soon after and have been there twice and plan on going back again.Editing
No, my shots are all jpeg......for now.In my camera bag
I only own a Nikon D7000 camera, and two lenses Nikkor 80-200 & 17-70mm.Feedback
