Behind The Lens

Location

This is pebble beach California. It’s a popular spot for people to go just to see the tree but also for whale watching. It’s difficult to get a good angle simply because there are barriers for safety.

Time

This was late afternoon, I was hoping for a sunset photo but every time I’ve gone to the lone cypress, clouds have rolled in for the sunset.

Lighting

Since there was overcast I made this a black and white photo which made it work well.

Equipment

Nikon D3500.

Inspiration

I love this area and would frequently get away here with my late pup Lili

Editing

I adjusted the composure and made it a black and white.

In my camera bag

Lens filters, tripod, my d3500 (at the time, I have a D7200 now).

Feedback

Keep trying, California coast always gets overcast in the morning and afternoon. Persistence.
