Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in Yosemite in January of 2017. I’m an amateur and always work to improve each photo I take. This one nature helped me out quite a bit.

Time

This was sunset, at that time I think it was around 5:00 pm.

Lighting

I always attempt to capture the magic of the places I photograph, again, nature posed nicely for this shot. So grateful.

Equipment

This was my NikonD7200 with AF-S Nikkor 18-55mm 1:3.5-5.6G and a Vivitar SERIES 1 CPL 52mm filter

Inspiration

I needed to get away from life to make a major life decision so I went to my most favorite magical spot. Valley View location is always my last stop leaving because, as you can see, the sunsets are incredible.

Editing

I did minor post processing in Lightroom. Very minor retouching. Boost the color a bit.

In my camera bag

My Nikon D7200 and both of my Nikkor 18-55mm and my Nikkor 55-200mm. A CPL filter and my awesome tripod/monopod.

Feedback

Y’all probably could give me more pointers than I can give. I’m always learning and if I take a break from photography I have to relearn a bit first. This shot i believe was in aperture mode.
