I walked from my home to the downtown Santa Rosa "Peggy Sue Cruise". Beautiful hometown event where- everyone comes out for a night of vintage, loud mufflers and exhaust fumes! (I had taken 300 or so photo's of everyone cruising the Square) Was getting late....I was walking and wanted to get home before dark. I cut through the side street where the owner's park.... and party, take a break from cruising....and this wonderful red car was there with the most perfect lighting. Click, click and I was on my hike home!Time
It was a pretty magic time of day- around 8:00pm. Sun was down....no shadows.Lighting
The light was really fun....lots of windows were bouncing light back.Equipment
I walked downtown with my Olympus- E-M10 around my neck and an IPhone 6 and three dollars in my pocket.Inspiration
I am a "history detective"- I do my documenting with my camera. The building in the reflection is the Rosenburg Building in Santa Rosa. Is a very "unnoticed" building of very historical significance to Santa Rosa. Having photo's of the building exterior architecture- was fun to have combined with the "red car" equal historical significance.Editing
I cropped to a square- for printing purposes- cheaper than paying for "odd dimensions". I did my usual Lightroom- sliders....clarity, highlights!!!In my camera bag
"one-lense LYNN"...... carries a red-purse -(backpack) with her Oly. I have tucked in a side pocket- an extra battery, a Joby-mini-mini tripod the size of three toothpicks. I never change lenses. My PEAKDESIGN (brown) is storage and my grab- holds everything and I am ready ....is the love of my life!!! I was an early backer on Kickstarter and when it arrived last 2015November- I am Ms Fashion- sporting it ....everything fits and goes- MacPro, Nikon 5200 with one lense!, tripod!Feedback
I am always on the hunt for "reflections"- I started out with puddles in my own neighborhood....looking for the reflection of houses (historical usually) in the water after the rains. I was out in one of the vineyards, and when I got home noticed the puddles had really neat reflections of the vines, which were not that interesting to photograph. Automobiles always have reflections of some sort- I usually start out seeing what is in the mirrors. Specifically focus on the reflection is advice!
