I just love this picture! My wife and I have adopted the fox as our family mascot (it is a pun on our last name). This is the best fox photo I have ever seen!

Location
I took this photo at The WNC Nature Center in Asheville, NC.Time
I took this picture in the afternoon. Which made it more challenging because the light wasn't that great.Lighting
No external sources were used for lighting.Equipment
I used the Canon 6d. The lens I used was a Sigma 150mm-500mm f5.0-6.3 lens made for Canon. No tripod or monopod. No flash. All handheld. Photo taken at 500mm, f7.1, shutter speed 1/400, iso 640.Inspiration
I saw this fox resting its head on a log. It looked like it was smiling and having sweet dreams. It was too cute, and I couldn't resist.Editing
No photoshop. I got this image straight out of the camera. Which in my opinion makes it more awesome! In my camera bag
I normally have a full frame camera The Canon 6d. A aps-c camera which for me is a T5I. A prime lens Canon 135mm f2L USM, A Sigma 150mm-500mm f5-6.3 with Canon mount, a Canon EF 70mm-200mm f2.8L IS USM, and a macro Canon 100mm f2.8 USM.Feedback
Take your time. The best shot doesn't always happen instantly. Photographing animals requires patience, but it pays off.
