This photo was taken in Munnar, Kerala. Munnar is a hill station located in the Indian state of Kerala, and is a popular tourist destination. Tea estates, cool weather and amazing view makes this beautiful town every nature lover's paradise; no wonder, Kerala is known as God's own country.Time
This is one of my best shots till date. I still remember that I hardly slept the night before, I was told that the sunrise in Munnar is not to be missed. I was waiting in the balcony of my room, waiting for a perfect shot and Voila!! It was definitely worth the wait!Lighting
The pink and purple sky, and just a glimpse of sunlight peeking from the mountains is all that made this photograph a winner. One can see the layers of mountains, disappearing into the misty morning lights; and the grainy texture which looks like goosebumps on the mountains are nothing but tea plantations.Equipment
I used a Nikon Coolpix.I did not own a DSLR back then in 2013. But, hey! not all perfect photos are shot using a Digital SLR, isn't it?Inspiration
I love travelling and visiting new places. Kerala is known as God's own country and one really has to visit Kerala to experience the serene and calm atmosphere. Greenery, cool wind that you feel on your skin and out of the world experience is how I would describe Kerala. South Indian states are famous for spectacular sunrises. Along the coast you get to see the sun rise as a ball of fire from the vast ocean. And along the mountain ranges, the sunrise is magical, just like the one in the photograph. Like Alexander McQueen said, "There is no better designer than nature."Editing
No, I did not do any post-processing.In my camera bag
Right now, my camera bag consists of a Nikon 3200D with 18-55mm lens and a 55-200mm zoom lens.Feedback
For nature photography, patience is virtue. There are times when I have missed a lot of beautiful sunsets along the coast of Goa because of a bad weather. You might not get the perfect shot on your first try, sometimes weather plays spoilsport. And sometimes, the best photos just happen, like a fairy tale. Landscapes, mountain ranges or sunset and sunrise are few that one can try if they want a variety in their photography. There is nothing known as "the perfect shot" when it comes to nature photography. Every photo of nature is perfect, because nature is perfect!
