Location
This picture was taken in northern Norway, on the way to an old mining town called Sulitjelma during fall. Passing this little lake, I yelled out to the driver to stop the car . I couldn't believe the beautiful autumn colours reflecting in the water . I was later told, that an old man had planted those trees by the water decades ago . They were so different than the rest of the woods around it.Time
This was shot on the 11th of october 2015 at 11:40 am , it was cold, but sunny this day. Here in this part of Norway (above the arctic circle), we were awaiting snow any day, so it was a wonderful day with the sun shining from a blue sky (not an every day occurence)Lighting
As far as the lighting goes, this was a natural light, but since those trees were so yellow, and the surrounding trees were dark, thee sun made the colour pop even more.Equipment
I used my Canon 5D MarkIII and a Canon 16-35mm, handheld. I didnæt have anything else with me, since I wasn't planning on taking pictures that day. No filter, no tripod, no nothing :)Inspiration
The reflection in the water was the thing that caught my eye immediately, and I just happened to be looking up at the moment we passed it (I was looking at an SMS on my phone, paying no attention to my surroundings). I yelled out to the sriver to stop, scaring him out of his wits :)Editing
The only post-processing I've done, is cropping the picture and slightly sharpen it (I do that with most my photos), especially those taken handheld. In my camera bag
Normally I have all my equipment with me in my car, but when I pack only a bag, I take my Canon 5D MarkIII, my 70-.200mm, 16-35mm and 24-70mm, all from Canon . Extra memorycard and an extra battery . And of course my tripod :)Feedback
My advice to everybody who wants the "perfect picture" : don't go looking for it :) Normally, my best shots are made when I least expect it :) . Rainy and gray days can suddenly turn into something awesome if the sun all of a sudden breaks through the clouds. I snowy and windy winterday can bring the most awesome shots of things you didn't expect to find. Always have your camera with you, and don't wait for the perfect moment ..... they come when you least expect it :)
