What a magnificent photo of a serious pup :)

Such a stunning photo! The lighting really accentuated the chiseling of the muzzle and that eye highlighted draws you into the soul of this pup! I like this quite a bit!

Behind The Lens

Location

That was a studio shot of my baby dog taken in september 2015 at my former studio in Corsica.

Time

The time of the day doesn't really matter since that is a studio shot. For the record, at was early afternoon and I didn't met Jack yet.

Lighting

Quite a simple setup: a softbox at max power, an umbrella at low power, and that's it.

Equipment

A nikon D700 and Nikkor 35mm F/2. The only way to keep that baby dog still was to be close to him so he didn't try to come to me. My studio setup for this photo was a black background, a softbox, an umbrella and the remote stuff.

Inspiration

That baby dog saved my life. He is now 13 months, and I took more than 25.000 photos of him. I just can't stop shooting him.

Editing

The usuall here: levels and contrast. Not much to say actually...

In my camera bag

Any of my DSLR that has a charged battery, and the first lens that I can reach. I don't have a bag. Bags mean heavy stuff, too much stuff, and spending too much time worrying about that stuff; I don't really care about equipment: I just shoot what I see with what I have at that moment. When I go specifically to shoot something special, I just carry the minimum things I think will be needed.

Feedback

Bring a dog, a few studio lights, a blak background and a camera in the same room and start shooting...
