Location
Pinewood Blvd, Munds Park, ARIZONATime
Is was a perfect timing that i were driving from Chandler, AZ up to North to Flagstaff, AZ as early as 2.30 AM. While passing the Munds Park, i manage to view the misty scenery even in very dim available road lights on my right hand site of the driveway. Its was the first time i ever made the stop at Munds Park and trace the misty area. My journey always on photography hence i have all my gears with me all the time. I know the sun will rise within half an hour, i made a walk around the place and enjoy the misty pre-sunrise scenery. Its was golden hour when i see the sun rises so majestically in front of me and all the mist turns to gold colors. The moment are so precious to me. Ever since then, i always ensure my journey is early and a stop at Munds Park is a must. This shot was taken on 20 Sept 2014 at 6.30 AM.Lighting
I have been walking through quickly for better angle i can use to shot the sunrise without over powering the lighting into my camera and have good overall scenery with it. The perfect hideout to block over intense sun light is to take through the pine tree. And they are perfect angle to me.Equipment
This shot was taken with Canon 60D (18-135mm kit lense) with ball head tripod.Inspiration
I always travel alone with my gears to discover good location for scenery shot. Pre-check on the places, sunrise location, sunset location, check images avail through google search to check on the location condition, safe to travel and so on is a must for me. Setting timing on when and what time i have to be at certain location for my liking conditions is taken into accounts too. I always love the shot if that is something i have to explore in new way to myself.Editing
I always capture picture in RAW format, so post-processing is a must for me. There won't be any tweaking from me in post-processing in terms of how the scenery supposed to be. For me they are supposed to be as it is and also attractive enough to encourage others to visit the place and enjoy the view themselves. So far i never merge picture in my photography experience. I only use Lr so far for post-processing and all edit in Lr are standard adjustment flow. Remove unwanted dust spot in any photography is again a must for me.In my camera bag
Normally i travel with my only Canon 60D body, 18-135mm kit lense, 10-18mm Wide angle kit lense, 70-300mm and 100mm 2.8f macro lense. Along with it i bring together shutter trigger, ball head tripod, extra batteries for camera, CPL and HD filters and offcourse dust blower and cleaning pen.Feedback
Be as early as you can at the location if you are to capture sunrise or sunset. Find the perfect location and angle of desire. Know where is the sun will rise and sets. I use Star Chart downloaded from Google Apps (Android based smartphone) to determine the sunrise spot. That is the key. Explore new thing everyday. Even a very dull place can be very promising for a very good photography if we think out of box.
