Location
I took this from our ground level back deck of our condo when vacationing at Massanutten resort.Time
It was just a little past sunrise.Lighting
The sun was still very low in the sky and I think the natural lighting was about perfect for the shot. I didn't use a flash or any other kind of artificial light.Equipment
I used my Nikkon D3200 with Nikor 18-108 mm VR lense. I would have loved to have had my tripod, but there wasn't enough time to grab it. Nothing but natural light!Inspiration
I have a soft spot for wildlife. At Massanutten the deer are everywhere. It is a treasure trove for deer photography. My wife is the one that first saw this little lady and quietly told me to get my camera.Editing
I mainly did some tone adjustments with Lightroom. Nothing major. In my camera bag
I typically carry my D3200 camera body with my favorite lense, Nikor 18-108mm VR. I also carry a Sigma 70-300mm macro lense, some extra memory cards, an extra battery, various filters and lense cleaners.Feedback
Mainly just be prepared and have your camera close by. With wildlife, you never know when something is going to come your way.
