Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo at Queen's Park, Toronto.

Time

It was in the afternoon, around 5PM, I just finished class, and I just took the subway to University of Toronto St. George Campus and walked around, taking pictures.

Lighting

It was all natural light, but it was also early Spring, all sunny, and late in the afternoon.

Equipment

I just used my 5D MKII with a 24-70 F/2.8L.

Inspiration

The blue in this picture is actually from the base of a bronze statue. There was only a very small area, very unnoticeable unless you really examine the statue. I just noticed that drape of the statue looked incredibly blue, and took out my camera. It looked stunning! The texture, the color, almost like a bedrock, except the frame was too empty. So I turned around picked up a pine cone, and composed a series of beautiful images.

Editing

Yes, but I just adjusted the saturation a bit.

In my camera bag

I usually have my 5D MKII, 24-70mm f/2.8L, sometimes a 200-400mm, a16-35mm f/2.8L II USM, or a 14mm f/2.8 L II.

Feedback

Sometimes the most beautiful things are the smallest, are those unnoticed.
