Chicago Downtown at around 2:30 AM, from my hotel room. I didn't have my tripod with me and the window had no ledge. Had to innovate... the chair with all possible books and props available in my room on top of it acted as my makeshift tripod... 32 failed attempts later I had something I continue to be proud of!

Behind The Lens

Location

Chicago Downtown from my hotel room, 32 failed attempts later I had something I continue to be proud of!

Time

At around 2:30 AM.

Lighting

The skyline and the lights in the night... Ethereal!

Equipment

I didn't have my tripod with me and the window had no ledge. Had to innovate... the chair with all possible books and props available in my room on top of it acted as my makeshift tripod... 32 failed attempts later I had something I continue to be proud of!

Inspiration

I've always been a fan of nightshots of sprawling city skylines... I had to pay extra to get a room with the view but it was well worth it!

Editing

I did not do any post processing

In my camera bag

2 cameras... my first camera - Canon 1000D and my next one - Canon 60D... A tripod... A few memory cards... lenses - 18-55mm & a 75-300mm

Feedback

Just ask for a room with a view and don't hesitate to change until you are happy with the view, pay that little bit extra for it... You will love the captures for the rest of your life!
