Telamon wreck by night.
The ship was constructed in 1954 in London. In 1981, in route from the Ivory Coast to Greece with a load of logs, she sprong leak and was forced to run a ground.
It was a very stormy night and the risk of the ship sinking in the small harbour of Arrecife, rendering the port useless was to high. So the telamon was leaded to strand in a small shallow sandy bay behind the harbour walls. (The lights right in the picture come from the Arrecife harbour).
The ship was unloaded and abandoned.
In a later storm, she broke in two (the tip at the right horizon is part of the second part of the wreck)
Since then the ship is ocasionally inhabited by squatters and it is frequently dived.

Location
On a small beach next to the harbour of Arrecife, Lanzarote. The island where I live.Time
We went out with a couple of friends around 11 pmLighting
The wreck is a very dramatic first plane but the trouble are the lights of the nearby harbour, provoking some light polution to get some details of the night sky.Equipment
The picture was shot with a canon 550d and kit lens on a tripod.Inspiration
The wreck is an inspiration. Left behind in the bay since 1981 she is part of the local landscape.Editing
Some adjustments in Lightroom and Viveza 2 of the Nik collection is a great tool too.In my camera bag
I love my tokina 10-17 lens for landscapes and my 60 mm macro lens for details but in this case i took this picture with a kit lens that was only operational any more in manual focus. Equipment helps for sure but is not everything.Feedback
Don´t let yourself be limited by your equipment. I got the luck to be published with pictures I took with an old second hand canon 550d. Just go out and experiment.
