Location
I believe this giraffe was taken at the Jacksonville Zoo or Busch Gardens. It happens to be one of my favorite giraffe photos, and due to a computer glitch, the original was lost along with all of the metadata.I'm hoping to find it on a CD. I was looking up and over the fence, and he was way up. He had a beautiful face and I just love their eyelashes. Giraffes are my favorite animal and I take lots of pictures of them.Time
It was taken during the day with a beautiful blue sky probably late in the afternoon.Lighting
Plenty of lighting with the sun and beautiful blue sky.Equipment
Nikon D300S, Lens 18-200 Nikor, Handheld, no flash.Inspiration
I love giraffes, and it's hard to take a complete pictures without him being way back. I especially like close-ups, and love their faces and eyelashes. I took the photo practically looking straight up in the air, and love the way it came out.Editing
I usually have a routine of doing levels, lighting, enhancement (a little), and some sharpening. In my camera bag
I try not to carry to much if going to a park or zoo, and make a decision which lens to bring in, cleaning cloth, polarizing filter, SD cards, small Nikon book.Feedback
Find what your passion is and practice, practice, practice. Also read your camera book up and down, back and forth unless you have a photographic memory. You can go to a zoo, wildlife park, wildlife refuges, to try a practice and catch some great shots.
