Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo in my garden. There is a tall pine tree next to the entrance of our family house. We planted it more than two decades ago. It was the size of my span and now, it is taller than the rooftop of our house.

Time

It was late Agust and I took this photo late afternoon, after a light Summer rain.

Lighting

The lighting was perfectly soft, the Sun just re-appeared from the rain clouds.

Equipment

I shot handheld on Panasonic Lumix DC-G9 Micro Four Thirds body with Olympus M.Zuiko Digital 60mm f/2.8 ED macro lens. I love this practical and very sharp dedicated macro lens.

Inspiration

I love simplicity and to show the beauty of small details. I was fascinated by the rain drops hanging on the pine needles.

Editing

I always shoot in RAW. I used Luminar 4 to develop the RAW file and make some basic adjustments and cropping.

In my camera bag

I like to travel and hike light, that's why I'm a big fan of the MFT system. I have the kit just described above with my favourite, workhorse zoom lens: Panasonic Leica DG Vario-Elmarit 12-60mm f/2.8-4.0 Asph. Power O.I.S and with few primes: Panasonic Lumix G 42.5 mm f/1.7 and 25 mm f/1.7 Asph Power OIS lenses, a circular polar filter, a neutral density filter (ND64), a solid tripod (if necessary), spare battery, lenspens, etc.

Feedback

If you look around, you can find many beautiful scenes to capture: from small, such as a rain drop to big, such as a waterfall. What you need: openess, positive attitude and patience to see them and any kind of gear to capture them.
