Location
This was taken at Al Marmum Desert reserve in Dubai UAE. A vast hilly sand dunes area where this animals stay during daytime after searching for food and drink water at the Al Qudra lakes, a man made lakes in the area.Time
I arrived on the location at dawn 5:45 AM anticipating that they will be passing to the place where I am hiding. It was almost 8:00AM and I am already disappointed since none of them pass on the place where I am, some of them notice me thats why they went far away. This two immersed from the top of the the opposite sand dunes. And that was this photo was taken before they noticed me and run away.Lighting
It was on December 1, 2020, a cold and foggy day in the area thats why the light is so defused though the sun is already high it was still covered by thick fog. If it was not foggy it would have an amazing color temperature coming from the early morning sun will be reflecting the sand dunes in the area.Equipment
I use My Nikon D810 with the 200-500 mm lens on the MeFoto A0320 Aluminum mini tripod. Without the tripod it would be difficult, I will slide down from the top of the sand dunes where I am hiding.Inspiration
This animals are excellent subject for me because I love to capture animals in actions and besides they are smart looking animal attractive subject. The terrain where they can be captured are superb with a different point of viewEditing
I use to do post processing using lightroom and photoshop to adjust the tone and exposure just to get close to the original look of the photo. In my camera bag
I use to bring two camera D810 & D500 with my nikon trinity lenses to be ready for other nice subject during shooting. I also bring ND filters. Extra memory cards, spare battery &shutter release cable.Feedback
I use to survey and study the place where I go for my photography which is important to any one who wants to capture similar to this photo, it is also important to know the behavior of the animals to anticipate their movements since we cannot tell them what pose we want for them to do. Another thing is to be at the right time on the right place.
