The day was cloudy and I wasn't expecting much of a sunset. The sun had nearly set when there was a burst of color splashed across the sky that reminded me of black berries. What a way to end the day. Hood Canal, Washington, USA

The photo was taken from my home on Hood Canal in Washington, USATime
The photo was taken the evening of August 6th. I remember the day well as it is the birthdate of my first husband, deceased. It had been cloudy all day and I wasn't expecting much of a sunset. When the sun dropped below the clouds the sky erupted with this burst of color the reflected throughout the sky. It was awesome!!!Lighting
With the sun low to the sky I wanted reflections on the water and a sunburst so I adjusted the camera settings to a high F stop to accomplish the sunburst and some basic LR adjustments.Equipment
This was taken with a Canon 5d Mark IV Canon 16-35mm lens and Manfrotto tripod no flash but i did increase my ISO To 400Inspiration
I knew it was meant to be when the sky erupted with the color. It was God telling me that I was to. My first marriage was not a happy one and I often struggle with the day. He wants me to grow in life and see the beauty and not dwell on the mistakes of my past.Editing
I wanted reflection on the water so worked on bringing out lost tones and highlights with some basic LR adjustments and added purple hues for effect. In my camera bag
Since I work from home a bag doesn't apply to me.Feedback
