Location
The photo was taken from my home on Hood Canal in Washington, USA. I am a self taught photographer always looking for new photo opportunities.Time
I remember the morning well. I was having morning with my husband when we both noticed this heron in front of the home. The morning light was bright that day and there was this ripple effect to the water. I have never seen the same effect again. It sure was a magical moment in time.Lighting
The morning light was amazing that day. The lighting enhanced the ripple effect adding the depth to the photo. I was pleased with the end result.Equipment
This was taken in early spring of 2019 so was with my Canon 70D using my 75-300 lens. My settings were 1/640, f11 ISO 100. No other equipment was used.Inspiration
The lighting, ripples and the heron were the inspiration. I was in awe with the beauty of the scene. I was unsure if I could get out the door without the heron leaving but got the camera and off I went!!! It was a perfect scene unlike any I had seen before I was so pleased it all worked to share with you.Editing
The photo really carries it self and has basic post processing techniques applied.In my camera bag
I work from home so a bag was not used.Feedback
