This spider came out of one of my wife's flower boxes as I was watering them. He stayed on the glass table and watched me as I was working.Time
This photograph was taken in natural light, in the mid morning of a nice summer day.Lighting
Nothing special about the lighting for this image. Natural lighting with no flash.Equipment
This was taken with my Nikon D7200 with a Tokina 100mm macro lens.Inspiration
I've always liked macro photography and some of the other photographers that specialize in macro work have always been an inspiration. Fortunately, this spider was very still and cooperative as I tried to get the sharpest image.Editing
I took this image and edited it with Lightroom CC. I sharpened the spider and took some of the spots off the table. I also enhanced the color and the lighting. In my camera bag
Depending on what I'm out to take pictures of, I like to pack light. I take my small backpack, a tripod, and usually a couple lens. If I venture out for wildlife images, I keep it to just my camera, zoom lens, and my tripod.Feedback
Practice, practice, practice. I find taking macro images can be very challenging. I have a long way to go where I'm confident in my macro photography. I keep trying and over time, I improve my skills.
