Location
In a neighborhood park in Las Vegas, NVTime
Morning.Lighting
I was lucky having the sun behind my back and low in the sky, so I had beautiful, soft, natural light.Equipment
Sony A7iii with Sony 200-600mm Lens. Handheld. Natural lighting.Inspiration
This picture was taken during the initial COVID lockdown. Walking around the neighborhood park with our dog was our mental escape. That year was an especially wet Spring, and there were plenty of baby ducks and geese! With my newly purchased camera and lens, I spent a lot of time at the park to practice. There were so many opportunities for cute poses with babies, and this was my favorite.Editing
I cropped to find a composition I liked. Color correction and added some vibrance to the duckling. Darkened the background to help separate the duckling. Added a little sharpness to make his hairs pop.In my camera bag
Sony camera body, tripod, remote trigger, Tamron 17-28 lens, Sony 200-600 lens, 2x converter, filters (polarizing, ND, graduated), extra batteries and memory cards.Feedback
Take multiple shots at different angles on different subjects performing the same behavior. In the end, I chose a shot I initially didn't think was the best one.
