When life throws you a lemon, make lemonade!
We had booked a hovercraft tour to see the dinosaur footprints across the tidal flats in Broome, Western Australia. We stood in stegosaurus footprints and jumped back into the hovercraft to start the journey back. All of a sudden their was a loud noise, we braced and then the craft came to a stop. Whilst the captain tried to fix the problem, the sun was beginning to set. I imagined sneaking off the hovercraft to capture this moment. After what felt like forever the captain said that we would have to walk the 1km back to the beach over the tidal flats and climb up the cliffs to get to a bus that would be waiting for us. I was so excited! We made the trek, and as I was talking to the captain about how we were going to get Omi, my 88 year old grandmother, up the cliffs, I saw a lone mangrove out of the corner of my eye. I ran to the mangrove tree, bare footed while Omi called out to be carful. I managed to capture it as the light faded. I sat on the bus and I was ecstatic that my Omi had made it safely up the cliffs and I got to photograph the mangrove and my Omi had made it safely up the cliffs.
